Cash prizes to foreign nationals are chargeable with British Income Tax. This is something we can do nothing about as it is a Government Law.
Any cash prizes above GB£1500 (converted at the exchange rate at the time of the competition) are subject to tax at the basic rate of 22%. This percentage is applied to sums above the £1500 allowance. Athletes charged this tax will be given a form to submit to their own tax authorities.
